This qualification has the working title of the Competent Person in the Workplace (CPIW). The new, voluntary CPIW is in development with our Awarding Organisation partner, SFJ Awards (SFJA) is due to open to learners by early 2026.
Work is now starting on the finalisation of the NaCTSO-designed content with SFJA to meet Ofqual requirements. NaCTSO have chosen to work with SFJA because of their experience and specialisation in qualification development, administration and delivery processes.

The Competent Person in the Workplace qualification is designed to help organisations design and develop suitable counter terrorism protective security and preparedness plans and mitigations. The qualification will be open to any person or organisation operating in any sphere.
